ALFRED WILKINSON

DOB: 1869
DOD: 28th November 1940

A PROMINENT SOUTH AUSTRALIAN AMATEUR
We reproduce in this issue (June 1912) of the "Harringtons Photographic Journal" some examples of the work of Mr A. Wilkinson, a name new to our list of contributors. As can be seen by the pictures reproduced, Mr A. Wilkinson is a serious worker and does not depend on any tricky lighting effect or "faking" to arrive at his results. They are just straight photographic statements, faithfully rendered. Considering that Mr A. Wilkinson is only a one-year-old camerist and entirely self-taught, we are safe in predicting a prominent place for him in the ranks of our artistic workers. We hope to reproduce some of his later work at a later date.
