BALMAIN AND ROZELLE PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY
The bi-monthly meeting of the Balmain and Rozelle Photographic Society was held at the Club Rooms, Tuesday 5th January; the subject on the syllabus for this date being “Question Box".

A departure, however, was made in the form of a lecture on Photographic Lenses by a new member of the Society, Mr. R.H.B. Brangwin. (Mr. Brangwin, by the way, is teacher of Photography at the Sydney Technical College). He showed by means of diagrams sections of lenses and completed lenses in the ordinary mountings—information both interesting and instructive.

The lecturer made a start by first thoroughly explaining what refraction of light rays really meant, and from that gradually constructed (so to speak) a lens from its origin to the high-class instrument of modern times. All members present evinced interest, and agreed that they had received a considerable amount of instruction. The Chairman, Mr. S. Jelfs, passed a vote of thanks to the lecturer, who, in replying, stated that he would do his best at all times to assist and instruct the Society.
