A very successful preliminary meeting, called by circular for the purpose of forming the Bathurst Camera Club, was held in the Mayor's room, Town Hall, last night, Mr H. Cheesman being in the chair. There was a good attendance, and the following were elected office-bearers: Patron, Dr Thomas Alfred Machattie; President, Mr E.T. Webb; vice-presidents, Messrs. Preen, Cheesman and Newman; Hon.Secretary, Mr H.J. Baldwin; Hon.Treasurer, Mr J.D. Page; committee, Mrs Jas Whitelaw, Misses Bassett and Preen, Messrs. Moody, Morton, Amery and Marsden. The object of the Society is to further the interest of photography amongst amateurs and for the allowing of this interchange of opinion and discussion of matters relating to the art.The subscription was fixed at 2 shillings and sixpence per half-year. Intending members are requested to leave their names with Mr H. Cheesman, the Hon.Secretary, or the Hon.Treasurer.

On the 6th November 1902, the monthly meeting of the Bathurst Camera Club was held in Beavis Bros, rooms, Mr R.L. Turner in the chair. There was a fair attendance. The rules, as framed by the sub committee appointed for the purpose, were adopted. A syllabus was drawn up for the next six months; it was decided to hold an excursion on Boxing Day to some place to be chosen at the next meeting.

On the 11th December 1902, the monthly meeting of the Bathurst Camera Club was held in Messrs Beavis Bros rooms, there being a fair attendance of members. Mr P.F. Newman occupied the chair. It was decided that the club should have an excursion on Boxing Day and that each member take a photo of the group present and also a picture of a landscape for competition at the January meeting. Mr Newman donated 10 shillings and sixpence for the best group and Mr Cheesman a like sum for the best landscape. The evening was then devoted to a demonstration of enlargements kindly lent by Mr J.D. Page, at the conclusion of which a vote of thanks was passed to that gentleman.

On the 8th January 1903, there was a very large attendance, which included several visitors, at the monthly meeting of the Bathurst Camera Club, which was held in Beavis Bros. The prizes which were competed for at an excursion held by the club on Boxing Day, were presented by the President, Dr. Machattie, as follows: Landscape, first prize, Mr. H. Cheeseman; second, Mrs. J. Whitelaw; Group, first prize, Miss Bassett, second, Mr H. Cheeseman. Votes of thanks were accorded to Mr. A. Gregory, for judging the pictures and to Mr. H.J. Baldwin, who carried out the arrangements for tho club's excursion, which proved a most enjoyable one.

There was a fair attendance of members at the monthly meeting of the Bathurst Camera Club last night. It was decided to offer a prize of 10 shillings for the best set of three snapshot pictures taken at the Bathurst show by members of the club, provided that not less than four sets of pictures are exhibited. Intending competitors are requested to leave their names with the Hon.Secretary Mr H.J. Baldwin as soon as possible. At the next meeting of the club Mr F. Moody will give a practical demonstration on the working of bromide papers and the prizes for the above competition will be awarded.

The usual monthly meeting of the Bathurst Camera Club was held at Beavis Bros. Rooms last night. Mr J. Newman occupied the chair. There was a fair attendance of members. The evening was devoted to a paper and practical demonstration on Bromide Printing, by Mr F. Moody, which proved very instructive and interesting. At the conclusion a vote of thanks was passed to Mr. Moody. At the next meeting an exhibition of pictures, taken by the members will be held.
