BUNDABERG CAMERA CLUB
The inaugural meeting of the newly formed Camera Club at Bundaberg, Queensland, took place in the Technical Ball, School of Arts, on Tuesday evening, when the members entertained their friends with an exhibition of lantern slides of photographs taken by members and others. Mr G. H. Finch (President) occupied the chair, and there was a good attendance, fully 100 persons being present. In opening the meeting the President expressed his pleasure at seeing so many present, and extended to them a hearty welcome. He reviewed the formation of the club, and pointed out the pleasure of the pursuit, and the advantages to be obtained by amateurs through joining the club. They had among the members of the club those who were fully qualified to instruct beginners in every photographic process, including the carbon process, which so far was the only permanent photography known. A number of excellent views, taken by members, both original and copies, were then shown on the screen, including some very pretty photographs from Torres Straits, taken by a young lady member, the evening proving most instructive. Mr G.H. Finch, junior, who was in charge of the lantern, carried out his duties exceedingly well.
