SYDNEY INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION OF PHOTOGRAPHY



Mr Allen G. Gray held an exhibition of color prints titled "ONE MANS COLOUR".

There were a total of 105 prints which included four Series.

The photographer - Allen G. Gray, born Melbourne 1922, in 1975 was a Teacher of Photography at the School of Graphic Arts, Sydney.

Commenced exhibiting 1949, by 1959 more than 500 black and white photographs accepted for exhibition at the worlds major exhibitions.

Only exhibitor in all eighteen Sydney International Exhibition of Photography.

Most current work in 1975 was color, including one man shows overseas.

First Australian to be awarded Honoraire Excellence, (Hon.EFIAP) the highest award of the Federation Internationale de L'Art Photographique.

Editor and designer of - Camera in Australia.

Technical Data: Formats used, 35mm and 6x9 cm. Most prints were on Kodak Ektacolor 37 RC paper, enlarged from 4x5 internegs.

Other prints were direct from Kodachrome 25 and 64 Transparencies on to Cibachrome paper. All prints produced by Mr Allen G. Gray.

Mr David Reid of Cook, has been awarded a certificate of merit in the Habitat Photographic Competition organized by the Sydney International Exhibition of Photography and the Habitat Task Force of the Department of Environment, Housing and Community Development.

Mr Reid's "Children's Access Video" depicts young film-makers in action.

The 70 Australian photographs sent to Geneva last year as Australia's entry in the Habitat Photographic Competition and other photographs will be on display at the Australian Museum, Sydney, until March 22 and the exhibition will then be shown in Canberra and other State capitals.
