TOWNSVILLE “Y’S” AMATEUR CAMERA AND MOVIE CLUB
Following on recess during the war years, the Townsville Camera Club is once again operating with a very encouraging membership. As our name implies, we are now allied to the Y.W.C.A. and Y.M.C.A., and everything points to a most successful year ahead.

Our last meeting took the form of an exhibition of “snaps” from members albums — over 200 entries being received. These were mounted on art boards in their respective sections (landscapes, seascapes, river views, portraits and child studies, not forgetting the miscellaneous group) and hung on the walls of “our own” Club Rooms. A large and enthusiastic audience attended, and each person present was asked to record their vote as to which picture was, in their opinion, the best. The result of this “popular vote” method was announced to the gathering at the conclusion of the “still” session.

The other half of the evening was spent viewing Kodachrome “movies” taken by one of the club’s members.
