TUMUT CAMERA CLUB
The monthly meeting of the Tumut Camera Club was held on Friday, May 31st, at the residence of Mr. G.F. Grill. The president (Mr. G.F. Grill) occupied the chair. The secretary (Mr. C.W. James) reported a membership roll of 16, which is an excellent start and speaks well for the future of the club. The secretary was instructed to write other clubs re rules and regulations governing such societies. The President gave an interesting account of the pioneering days of photography, pointing out the difficulties under which the early photographer labored and of the comparative simplicity of present day methods by which it was possible for anyone to become proficient in the fascinating hobby. The President intimated his intention of erecting a room at his residence which would serve the purpose of a lecture hall and studio. This studio would be at the disposal of members of the club. At the next meeting, to be held on the 28th, the President purposes giving a demonstration on developing. This will be highly educative, for the skilled workers as well as beginners, as Mr. Grill is an artist of no mean ability, and the club is indeed fortunate in having such an accomplished President. Refreshments were served during the evening by Mrs. Grill. A vote of thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Grill by their kindness in placing their room at the disposal of the club concluded the meeting.

ST. PAUL'S CHURCH WORK EXHIBITION
NON-COMPETITIVE

In the non-competitive section there was a very creditable exhibit by the members of the Tumut Camera Club, being chiefly views taken around Tumut. The work is certainly a credit to them, and shows what useful work can be done as a pastime.
