CARINGBAH PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY
The fortnightly meeting of the Caringbah Photographic Society was held on Monday 30th August 1954, at the Clubrooms, Frederick Street, Miranda.

The Competition for the evening was the judging of the three best Color slides of the year, which was taken from the winning slides of all color competitions held during the year ending 30th June last. Mr. M. Hind of Cronulla kindly acted as judge for the competition which gave him a difficult task as the slides were of a very high quality being the pick of the many submitted during the year. After judging Mr. Hind commented on each entry. The placings were:
1. Mr. Bob Mills of Cronulla.
2. Mr. Harry Pemble of Cronulla.
3. Mr. Claude Carmichael of Miranda,

A number of visitors were present at the meeting among them being members of the newly formed Yagoona Camera Club who brought along a few of their slides to show the quality of their work. The two Clubs hope to hold an inter-club competition during the year.

Visitors and prospective members are welcome at all meetings and further information can be obtained from the Publicity Officer Mr. C. Carmichael.

YAGOONA CAMERA CLUB
On 29th July, a group of some 20 enthusiasts held an inaugural meeting of the Yagoona Camera Club in the Yagoona Co-Op Hall. Mr. I. Blake, representing Kodak Ltd., came along and showed a number of interesting historical and color slides and afterwards answered many technical questions on photography in general.

The following office-bearers were elected: President, A.P. Kenyon; Vice-President, R.J. Morgan; Secretary, J. Woodhouse; Treasurer, H. Glover; Publicity Officer, J. Murray.

On Wednesday of the following week a constitution was drawn up based on the outlines given in How to Form a Camera Club. It was decided that the club would meet on the first Thursday in each month, and at the August meeting 13 members exhibited their contact prints. Much information was gained from the thorough criticism given by Mr. M. Hind of Kodak Ltd.

For information regarding the club, please call at Kenyon’s Pharmacy.
