COMMUNICATIONIMAGESENTRYNATURECONFIRMATION EMAILPAYMENTCOMMUNICATIONQ. Why has the SIEP not replied to my email?
We try to answer emails within 24 hours. However, as we get near to the closing date it might take a little longer owing to the huge volume of entries that come in at that time. So please be patient, we will reply. ^ TOPQ. I have not received the confirmation email, why is this?
There are two possible reasons why your confirmation email has not arrived. The first is that you did not fill in your email address correctly. The second may be that your anti-spam software has treated it as suspicious and moved it to a Quarantine or Junk email folder. Please check those folders before contacting us for help. To avoid such problems, add [email protected] to your list of trusted domains. If your confirmation email does not arrive within an hour of submitting your entry then please email the SIEP - President to check that your entry has been received. ^ TOPQ. When can I expect to receive my report card?
Report cards will be emailed within one week of the judging; if you have not received your report by then, please check your Junk email folder. If you have still not received it, please email the SIEP - President Report cards will not be posted. Q. When can I expect to receive my catalog?
Catalogs and Awards will be posted by 26th November 2012 and will be sent by air mail. Please allow enough time for postal delays before contacting us about missing Catalogs or Awards. ^ TOPQ. When can I expect to receive any award I might have won?
Catalogs and Awards will be posted by 26th November 2012 and will be sent by air mail. Please allow enough time for postal delays before contacting us about missing Catalogs or Awards. ^ TOPQ. My email address has changed. What should I do?
Please let us know as soon as possible by emailing the SIEP President. IMAGESQ. What is the file naming format?
There is no special file name format required. There are two boxes on the entry form for each image. The first box is for the Image Title, how you want the image title to appear in the catalog. The second box is for the File Name which automatically fills in when you browse to the file on your PC. ^ TOPQ. Does size matter?
Yes it does. It is important that images are saved as .jpg files. Please check that the maximum horizontal size is 1400 pixels and that the maximum vertical size is 1050 pixels. The image MUST be saved as a .jpg file at maximum Jpg Quality 9 and be a maximum of 800 KB. Images that are oversized will be automatically rejected by our entry software. Virtually all problems encountered by entrants are caused by images being too large. ^ TOPQ. Do images lose quality when submitted on line?
There is no loss in quality when images are submitted on line. ^ TOPQ. What happens if I enter an image that is smaller than 1400 x 1050 pixels?
If you submit an image smaller than the recommended size it will not fill the screen when projected. This will not affect the judging as a "good little one" is always better than a "poor big one". ^ TOPENTRYQ. Will the closing date be extended?
The closing date is 03rd September 2012 - Midnight AEST. Because of the amount of work we then have to do, there will be NO extension of this time. ^ TOPQ. Can I have a copy of the entry form sent to me by post?
Sorry, there are no printed versions of the Entry Form available, all entries MUST be made on line ^ TOPQ. Can I email my entry form and images to the SIEP?
No. ^ TOPQ. Can I use my own entry form?
No, as all entries must be made on line. ^ TOPQ. Is entry restricted to FIAP, PSA, RPS or APS members only?
No, the SIEP is open to all photographers, amateur and professional, worldwide. ^ TOPQ. How do I know that my entry has been successfully uploaded?
After you have pressed the Submit button and paid via PayPal you will automatically be sent an email confirming that your entry has been received. This email will confirm your personal details (name, photo honours, address etc) and list the titles of your entered images. Please check this carefully. ^ TOPQ. My entry keeps getting rejected when I click the Submit button.
The most common reason for this is that one or more of your images is too large. Please check that the maximum horizontal size is 1400 pixels and that the maximum vertical size is 1050 pixels. The image MUST be saved as a .jpg file at maximum Jpg Quality 9 and be a maximum of 800 KB. Other reasons include not having completed all sections of the form. ^ TOPQ. I have entered the SIEP but my name does not appear on the status list.
The status list is not updated automatically; we have to do it manually. However, we try to make sure that it is updated daily which means that your name can take up to 24 hours to appear on the list. ^ TOPQ. I want to change one or more of my images, can I email them?
No, you should resubmit your whole entry, but first email the SIEP President for instructions before doing so, or you will be asked by PayPal to pay again. ^ TOPQ. I made a mistake in my entry, what should I do?
If it is only a mistake in the personal details section of the entry form, please email the corrections to the SIEP President If your images are wrong you should resubmit your whole entry, but first email the SIEP President for instructions before doing so, or you will be asked by PayPal to pay again. ^ TOPQ. Can my entry be passed on to other exhibitions?
No. ^ TOPNATUREQ. My Nature images were taken in a zoo, raptor centre or game farm, can I enter them?
No, because the SIEP is run with the approval of both the PSA and FIAP, images have to comply with the Nature Definitions from BOTH organisations. The FIAP definition prohibits the use of "Photographs of animals which are domesticated, caged or under any form of restraint" which includes zoos, raptor centres and game farms. ^ TOPQ. My Nature images were taken in an African game reserve, can I enter them?
Yes. Although in the broadest sense of the word, the animals are restrained, the area is so large and the animals are not controlled, so they live in totally wild conditions. ^ TOPCONFIRMATION EMAILQ. Why have I not received the confirmation email?
There are two possible reasons why your confirmation email has not arrived. The first is that you did not fill in your email address correctly. The second may be that your anti-spam software has treated it as suspicious and moved it to a the Quarantine or Junk email folder. Please check that folder before contacting us for help. To avoid such problems, add [email protected] to your list of trusted domains. If your confirmation email does not arrive within an hour of submitting your entry then please email the SIEP President to check that your entry has been received. ^ TOPQ. Some of the details/titles on my confirmation email are not correct.
Please email SIEP President with the corrections as soon as possible. ^ TOPPAYMENTQ. I don't have a PayPal account. Can I still enter online?
